October Favourites 2018
My favourite month of the year has now been and gone.; colder weather, my 21st birthday and of course Halloween. It's been such a great month, probably the best month of this year so far, I've realised how amazing all of my friends are and how well they all know me, and that things always get better in the end even if you're having a tough time. I am very thankful for all the lovely things I've been gifted this month as well as the amazing discoveries I've also come across this month.
Beauty & Fashion
Dr Martens Molly Glitter Boots - For my birthday this year I received the most amazing and incredible pair of Dr Martens from my dad and step-mum, which I absolutely adore. You may remember my blog post from last month called 'My Birthday Wishlist 2018' and these boots were on that list, which I stated I was very unlikely to get because they were quite expensive. But lucky me, I now own these beautiful Dr Martens and I've worn them literally everyday since I got them. I'm a little worried about scuffing them and getting them dirty so they'll probably be saved to wear for special occasions and nice weather to ensure they stay clean ad pristine.
I Heart Revolution Macaroons Palette - I finally got this beautiful Macaroon palette for my birthday after swooning over it for a couple of months and I just love it. The colours are gorgeous, I especially adore the turquoise and dark silver shades; i think it's a really nice transitioning palette summer to autumn with the bright turquoise and warm golds and bronzes. All 18 shades are gorgeous, the chocolate packaging is adorable and of course the whole thing smells of chocolate, what more do you want from an eyeshadow palette?
Banned Apparel Red Tartan Skinny Jeans - Another item that I had mentioned on my birthday wishlist was a pair of red tartan trousers, I think I even used a picture of these Banned Apparel trousers as an example, and my amazing boyfriend bought me those exact ones for my birthday. I really really really like them, especially paired with my new Molly Glitter Dr Martens and a black top, I feel very punk when I wear this outfit. I've wanted some tartan trousers since about May but struggled to find a pair that I really liked but I am so happy that I now have these amazing pair of skinny tartan trousers, and just in time for the cold weather.
False Eyelashes - So I've never used false eyelashes until now; I've always been kind of scared of using them because I was worried I'd glue my eye shut or something. I received a couple of pairs for my birthday and thought I'd just try them out to see what they were like... I love them. I actually loved how they made my lashes look longer and thicker without having to apply layers and layers of mascara; I'm so surprised that I've never used tem before but I will 100% be using lashes more from now on. I am really loving this pair of Eye Candy Volumising False Lashes, they effortlessly add so much volume and length.
Zoella Cosmos Body Mist - Anther amazing scent from the Zoella Beauty range; this Cosmos body mist smells delicious, it's very light and crisp and I've never smelt a perfume that has minty notes before but it definitely works. Whilst this body mist is supposed to be a Christmas scent, it's the first out of Zoe's three Christmas ranges that I feel I could wear day to day all year round because of how subtle and light it is. I can't wait to grab some more goodies from this Christmas range and give them a try.
Rodial Dragons Blood Hyaluronic Tonic - Hyaluronic acid is all the rage right now in skin care, and I was able t get some of the Rodial Dragons Blood products which all contain Hyaluronic acid , which reduces wrinkles, fine lines and discolouration. I ted to use the spray when I'm not earing makeup as I'm not sure if it has the same benefits if you spray it on top of makeup, but I tend to squirt it onto my face in te mornings and evenings to give it a hydrating boost.
Entertainment
Friday Night Dinner - I can't believe that I have only just discovered this hilarious series. I had never really watched any Friday Night Dinner but my best friend was raving about how funny it was, so I thought i'd check it out on Netflix one night, which led to a weekend of me binge watching all five series back to back. I love British comedies like this and there aren't that many out there that have this type of comedy where everything is random chaos with quirky characters and gags. I was very excited when I heard that they're currently filming for season 6 but I don't want to have to wait a whole year for it to be released!
Trench by Twenty One Pilots - Twenty One Pilots have released their new album 'Trench' earlier this month after 3 years of waiting. I do like the album and here are definitely some amazing songs on there, but I felt I connected with their last album, 'Blurryface', more. From 'Trench' I really love 'Chlorine', 'Nico and the Niners' and 'My Blood', I've had them all repeat for the last few weeks. I hope I fall in love with the other songs soon like when I first listened to 'Blurryface' because I'll be seeing them at Wembley next year and I don't wanna get caught not knowing any lyrics.
Doctor Who - Finally Doctor Who is back and after months of worrying if i'll like Jodie Whittakers, I am so glad to say that I am really enjoying her portrayal of the Doctor so far. Only four episodes have aired so far, two of which I really, really enjoyed and I'm hoping that the remaining episodes are just as epic and not as dull as some previous episodes. I am quite excited to see what happens over the next couple of years with this Doctor and the adventures she'll go on, and I'm loving all the jokes on the show where she can't get used to being a woman.
Food & Drink
McCafe Toffee Latte - Cold weather means hot drinks and it's been damn cold over the last couple of weeks. I'm definitely not a fancy coffee drinker and i rarely go into Starbucks or Costa, but I can still appreciate a good cup of coffee. I have been loving the Toffee Latte from McDonalds this month; it's only £1.99 and it's just as tasty as a £4 latte from a coffee chain.

My 21st Birthday - It's official, I'm a grown up, and while I still haven't had that freak out about turning 21 like I had last year when I turned 20, I had a really good day and I'm excited about things coming up in my life. Since I'm the first to turn 21 out of my group of friends, I'm looking forward to celebrating all their birthdays with them all and making them feel special like they did for me. Check out my What I Got For My 21st Birthday blog post here to see how much my friends and family spoiled me this year!
