April Favourites 2019
April was a busy month; I'm in my last few weeks of uni and I have deadlines coming up and the stress levels have been rising each day. Nonetheless I have still been trying to get some blog content written whenever I can (this is the first post in nearly a month so clearly I didn't get much done). I've discovered some great new product over the last month, from eyebrow products to Tim Burton-esque fortune cookies, so continue on to see what's been floating my boat. .
Beauty & Fashion
Nip + Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick in Cool Mint - Another quirky lip product to add to my ever-growing collection, this time it's a dark green liquid lipstick from Nip - Fab and it's a stunner. Extremely matte, bold, vibrant and extremely pigmented, this quick drying lippy is great for a quirky summer pout or a vampy Halloween look. The formula is creamy and non-sticky and easy to apply; one downside I found is that it's not that easy to remove, i looked like I had hypothermia with my blue/green stained lips after I wiped it off.
Revolution Skincare CBD Oil - I'd seen the new Revolution skincare advertised for ages, especially this product
and I was really interested in buying it, and my local Superdrug finally started stocking the Revolution skincare range so without even thinking I purchased the skin nourishing CBD oil. I love how you have to use the pipette to apply it to your skin, although this can sometimes get a little messy if you accidentally get it on yourself. So far I'm pretty much loving it; my skin definitely feels much more hydrated throughout the day and feels smoother than before I started using it.
New Lush Products - This spring saw some amazing new Lush products filling our Instagram feeds, and as a total Lush fanatic I was excited to try some of their new spring and Easter bath goodies. Two of my favourites that I've tried so far are the Cocoa Sugar Scrub, a yummy little bunny head that smells just like chocolate, and the Melusine Bath Bomb, which is an absolutely beautiful mermaid inspired bath bomb that smells sweet and fresh. I've got my spring baths sorted but I can't wait to try out some of their other new treats.
Noose Pendant Necklace - This month my friend bought me a cute little keyring with a small silver noose pendant, which I utterly adored (yes I like nooses, get over it). While the pendant was originally just on a keyring, I loved it way too much to just stick it on my keys and shove straight into my bag, so I decided to take it off the key chain and instead put it on a silver chain, so that more people could see it and so that I could enjoy it more. She bought herself the same keyring not long after so now we both just have cute matching silver nooses so we can both be strange together.
Revolution Duo Brow Pencil - I have not been loving how my eyebrows products lately so I thought I'd change up my brow game and try something new My favourite, trusty brand of makeup, Revolution, had just the thing I needed, a duo brow pencil with a slanted pencil on one end for precision and mimicking tiny hairs, and a brush on the other end for grooming. Honestly after using it my brows look much better than when I was using my previous brow products.
Entertainment
Game Of Thrones Season 8 - The long awaited final season of Game Of Thrones has finally arrived and it has been insanely brilliant so far. Of course I've been obsessed with it just as much as the next person; there's been so much anticipation, drama and excitement that I'm practically dying at the end of each episode because I just don't want to wait 7 days to find out what happens next. There's three more episodes left as I write this, I hope they're just as thrilling as the last three.
Food & Drink
Cadbury Ultimate Crunchie Easter Egg - Crunchie is one of my faaaavourite chocolate bars and I always get at least one Crunchie Easter eggs each yer, and this year Cadbury released my dream Easter egg; The ultimate Crunchie Easter egg. This chocolaty egg has actual pieces of yummy honeycomb in the egg itself along with three of my favourite chocolate bars. Of course i begged someone to buy me this ultimate eggs for weeks and sure enough come Easter day I had the egg, and it was absolutely dreamy.
McDonald's Monopoly - My favourite fast food restaurant has brought back McDonald's Monopoly, which just gives me an excuse to go and buy even more chicken nuggets. I've manage to collect around 30 monopoly properties and train station pieces along with a few instant food prizes, which I have yet to cash it. Who honestly doesn't love when it's monopoly month? Because I sure as hell do.
Other
Misfortune Cookies - While I was shopping in Brighton, I found a whole bucket full of 'Misfortune Cookies' in one of the shops, and honestly I couldn't leave without buying a some. They're basically black fortune cookies (that smell and taste like playdough) with a horrible misfortune inside; mine read 'All your hard work will never be rewarded' while another I bought for my friend read 'You will live a long life. I long, boring life'. I think these horrible little cookies actually make great gifts for your friends, or maybe your enemies, I'm definitely gonna be buying some more.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I hope that my May favourites post will be a little more exciting than this one, but April went so quick I hardly had time to stop and think about what I was enjoying. What have you guys been loving this month? Let me know in the comments.
